Twitter under DDOS attack
Update: Good news for Twitter fans, The site is back online.
Popular Micro-blogging site Twitter is under DDoS attack and has been down for over 2 hours. The message posted on the status blog is
“We are defending against a denial-of-service attack, and will update status again shortly.
Update: the site is back up, but we are continuing to defend against and recover from this attack.”
DDOS attack is an evil deed done by some of those hackers who use a large number of computers to send unwanted requests to the victim’s site (here in this case Twitter) with the sole aim to take down the servers of that particular site. These unwanted requests cause too much load on the servers of the victims’ sites and make them unresponsive.
